Survey Equipment Services, Katy, Texas, placed an order for a Sonardyne Mini-Ranger 2 USBL tracking system and multiple Nano transponders to benefit clients conducting inspection projects involving divers working from small boats and barges. Sonardyne International Ltd.

Next Geosolutions, London, England, has been awarded two major survey contracts for the North Sea Link project, the first electricity link between the U.K. and Norway. One contract is for cable protection survey work for Statnett, the Norwegian transmission system operator, and the other contract is for offshore cable route survey, unexploded ordnance survey and route preparation techniques. ABB, Zurich, Switzerland, will supply the power and electric propulsion system for a new floating storage and regasification unit. The equipment on board will provide data to shore-side centers, enabling a proactive approach to vessel maintenance. BW Group.

Kraken Sonar Systems Inc., Conception Bay South, Canada, will supply AquaPix MINSAS for integration on the new 2-Man Portable UUV platform. The MINSAS payload section includes RTSAS MK-II to enable real-time, onboard processing of SAS imagery and bathymetry. Riptide Autonomous Solutions.

Siem Offshore Contractors, Leer, Germany, has extended a contract for the E1000 motion-compensated access system, with a gangway that transforms into a crane boom, for a wind farm maintenance program. Ampelmann.

Wärtsilä, Helsinki, Finland, will supply globally operating tanker vessels with Aquarius ballast water management systems. The agreement covers the retrofit of several vessels. Minerva Marine Inc.

iSURVEY, Billingstad, Norway, has been awarded a survey and positioning contract to support rig move operations in the Danish sector of the North Sea. Maersk Oil.

Oceanscan, Aberdeen, Scotland, has ordered a number of M900-130 (1, 000- and 4,000-m-rated) subsea imaging sonars that will add the latest in subsea imaging tools to its rental offering for ROV operators. Teledyne BlueView.

FarSounder Inc., Warwick, Rhode Island, will provide its flagship FarSounder-1000 sonars for the PONANT EXPLORERS, a new series of four yachts designed for luxury expeditions. FarSounder Norwegian dealer Wärtsilä Valmarine AS will be the integrator. PONANT.

Orolia, Valbonne Sophia-Antipolis, France, has entered an agreement to acquire a Zoetermeer, Netherlands-based company that specializes in voyage data recorders for the international maritime market. Netwave Systems B.V.

Trelleborg, Trelleborg, Sweden, has completed the design and fabrication of FPSO elastomeric bearing structures. This marks the first time the company’s Singapore facility has not only provided elastomeric bearings, but designed and manufactured the entire steel fabricated elastomer bearing system. Seaborn Networks, Beverly, Massachusetts, has entered into a binding agreement to build a new subsea fiber-optic cable system connecting Argentina with Brazil. The ARBR system will provide onward connectivity via Seabras-1 for the most direct route between Argentina and the U.S. The ARBR system will be a four-fiber pair system with an initial maximum design capacity of 48 Tbps and an anticipated completion date in the second half of 2018. Winterthur Gas & Diesel Ltd. (WinGD), Winterthur, Switzerland, announced that its seven-cylinder, 62-cm bore type 7X62DF engines will propel the first ever gas-fueled Aframax crude oil tankers. WinGD will also supply its Engine Diagnostic System. SCF Group.
